Welcome!
I’m Dawniece, the creative mastermind behind the art on this site and I am so thankful you've decided to visit.
A little about me:
I am a creative soul living in Richmond, VA. An artist of many mediums, including hair, makeup, food, and written word. But primarily, I am a painter. Acrylic is my medium of choice and I am largely self-taught. I took studio classes in high school, but chose to pursue business studies post-secondary education. However, I continued painting as an emotional outlet and as a form of worship along the way. I finally started to create and teach art professionally in January 2013.
About my work:
My pieces are bold, devastating, passionate, authentic and fluid…sometimes dark and brooding. They reflect cultural pride, resilient faith, natural beauty, and a love of the feminine.
If I have done my job appropriately, you should feel something when you gaze upon my work, because it is emotional. I enjoy layering the paint, creating various textures on a variety of surfaces - including, but not limited to, canvas, cardboard, acid-free paper, glass, and skin.
Please take a moment to peruse my galleries. Contact me if you’d like to purchase a piece or if you’d like to discuss commissioning something personal.
Love and blessings!
